The United States would like to reach a deal with Russia and believes that there are all the necessary opportunities for this. This was announced on June 24 by US President Donald Trump, going to the NATO summit in the Netherlands.

He told reporters that Russian President Vladimir Putin offered his assistance to the United States in resolving the crisis with Iran.

"I would like to see a deal with Russia. As you know, [Russian President] Vladimir [Putin] called me. He said: "Can I help you with Iran?" I replied, "No, I don't need help with Iran. I need help with you." And I hope that we will be able to conclude a deal with Russia," he said while talking to reporters on the plane. The conversation was broadcast on the White House YouTube channel.

On June 23, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted that a high-level meeting between Putin and Trump could take place after the results of the negotiations. According to Peskov, Russia's position on the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine is consistent and well-known. It is also set out in the draft memoranda, which were submitted to the Ukrainian side.
