He told reporters that Russian President Vladimir Putin offered his assistance to the United States in resolving the crisis with Iran.

"I would like to see a deal with Russia. As you know, [Russian President] Vladimir [Putin] called me. He said: "Can I help you with Iran?" I replied, "No, I don't need help with Iran. I need help with you." And I hope that we will be able to conclude a deal with Russia," he said while talking to reporters on the plane.
