The commander of the Iranian intelligence and security unit of the Basij forces, General Mohammad Taqi Yousefvand, was killed in an Israeli attack on Iran, the press service of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) reported on June 24.
"Yesterday afternoon, the Zionist regime launched rocket attacks on several locations in Tehran, during one of these attacks, General Mohammad Taqi Yousefwand, commander of the Basij forces intelligence and security unit, was killed," the IRGC said in a statement posted on its Telegram channel.
On June 15, the IRGC announced the deaths of seven IRGC Military Space Force (VKS) commanders during Israeli attacks. Among the dead were named Mahmoud Bagheri, Dawood Sheikhian, Mohammad Bagher Taherpour, Mansour Safarpour, Masoud Tayyeb, Khosrow Hasani and Javad Joursara.
Later that day, Tasnim news agency reported that 10 IRGC soldiers were killed as a result of Israeli attacks on the Iranian province of Yazd.
