Ukraine should not be admitted to the European Union (EU) and NATO, as this decision will lead to a war between Western countries and Russia. This was announced on June 24 by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.

"If the EU had accepted Ukraine into its ranks, it would immediately mean open war for it, and after the ceasefire, there would be a constant risk of war between Europe and Russia," he wrote on Facebook (owned by Meta, a company whose activities are recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).

According to him, at the same time, Ukraine's membership in NATO "created the danger of the outbreak of World War III." In this regard, the Hungarian Prime Minister stressed that Kiev should not be accepted into the association.

In addition, Orban clarified that it is in Hungary's security interests not to become part of a common integration structure with Ukraine.

On the eve of Orban announced Hungary's plans at the NATO and EU summits to hinder Ukraine's integration into the alliance and the bloc. Then he noted that this could lead to financial chaos and escalation of the conflict. The Hungarian Prime Minister also stressed that states should avoid any steps towards Ukrainian integration.
