- The State Duma adopted a draft law on increasing the fine for failure to inform the military enlistment office about the move

In the second and third, final readings, the State Duma adopted a bill to increase fines to 20,000 rubles for failure to inform the military enlistment office about the move. This is evidenced on June 24 by data on the Duma electronic database.
The draft law proposes to supplement Article 21.5 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (CAO) with a new part 2.1. Currently, part 2 of this article sets a fine from 1 to 5 thousand rubles for failure to inform the military enlistment office about the move.
Now, failure by a citizen to provide information about moving to a new place of residence, which is not confirmed by registration, will entail an administrative fine in the amount of 10 to 20 thousand rubles.
The Russian government has supported a bill to toughen penalties for failure to notify military enlistment offices of the fact of relocation on February 3. The author of the amendments was Andrei Kartapolov, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Defense. The Lower House of Parliament adopted the draft in the first reading on March 25.
