The defense appealed the arrest of FC Torpedo owner Leonid Sobolev.

The defense of Leonid Sobolev, the owner of the Torpedo football club, who is suspected of bribing a judge, has appealed against his arrest. Alexander Dobrovinsky, Sobolev's lawyer, told Izvestia on June 24.
"We have filed an appeal to the court. I think this case may take a long time," he said.
According to the defender, "there is no case as such," and the defendants are not guilty.
"[They] don't react emotionally to all this. I think they will not give any testimony, and they will do the right thing," the lawyer commented.
Law enforcement officers detained Sobolev on June 20. On the same day, it was reported that a criminal case had been opened against him, as well as the director of Torpedo, Valery Skorodumov, who, according to preliminary data, tried to bribe the judge. It was clarified that the defendants offered the chief referee over 1 million rubles for winning the match, awarding penalties to opponents or removing their player.
