According to him, a long-term peace between the parties is currently impossible, as it will be "only a pause between episodes of escalation." "The main step is the internal honesty of the elites on both sides, recognizing that endless confrontation is working against their own national interests. And this, of course, is possible only at a time when the costs of war will become critical for the regimes," the expert emphasized.

He also expressed the opinion that the current war could be beneficial to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who seeks to retain power. Similarly, it is important for Iran to demonstrate its strength and influence in the region, which also fuels the conflict.
