- The political scientist stated Israel's intention to discredit Iran as an unreliable partner.
Israel will use every opportunity to discredit Iran as an unreliable partner. This was stated by political analyst Dmitry Brije in an interview with Izvestia on June 24.
This is how he commented on the statements of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) about a new missile attack from Iran after the ceasefire was announced. At the same time, Tehran denied these accusations and confirmed the observance of the truce.
"Neither side perceives the opponent's statement as the truth anymore, even if it is about a cease-fire. Information attacks and provocations will continue. Israel will use every opportunity to discredit Iran as an unreliable partner. And, of course, Iran, in turn, will continue to mobilize regional allies and strengthen the narrative of its victory," the source said.
According to him, a long-term peace between the parties is currently impossible, as it will be "only a pause between episodes of escalation." Bridge explained that in order to achieve stability, security guarantees are needed from third intermediary countries such as China, Oman or Qatar, and not from Western states.
The political scientist also noted the importance of creating a direct military hotline between Israel and Iran to prevent incidents. He emphasized the need to limit proxy conflicts, especially in regions such as Lebanon, Syria, Iraq and Yemen.
In addition, the expert added, it is necessary to stop the policy aimed at overthrowing the regime in Iran. He stressed that Israel's interference in Tehran's internal affairs only worsens the situation and violates security in the region.
"The main step is the internal honesty of the elites on both sides, recognizing that endless confrontation is working against their own national interests. And this, of course, is possible only at a time when the costs of war will become critical for the regimes," the expert emphasized.
He also expressed the opinion that the current war could be beneficial to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who seeks to retain power. Similarly, it is important for Iran to demonstrate its strength and influence in the region, which also fuels the conflict.
In addition, Alexander Khazaridi, deputy head of the Department of External Communications of the Polylogue Group, a political scientist, added that further aggravation of the situation is primarily unprofitable for Israel. According to him, the continuation of the conflict may negatively affect the internal stability of the country, as well as its international relations.
Earlier in the day, US President Donald Trump announced the entry into force of an agreement related to a complete cease-fire between Israel and Iran. He also called on the countries not to violate the truce.
