Private houses of the SNT "Locomotive" suffered due to a forest fire in the Trans-Baikal Territory

In the Trans-Baikal Territory, private houses in the SNT "Locomotive" almost completely burned down as a result of a forest fire in the region. Footage of the aftermath is published by Izvestia on June 24.

"We are located in the SNT "Locomotive". There is a burnt-out cottage behind me, as you can see, the fire has destroyed almost everything, with the exception of metal and brick structures. There was practically nothing left. If you walk through the territory of the village, then all the houses at the moment look something like this," said Vladislav Divnich, a correspondent for Izvestia.

A local resident clarified that her husband had notified her about the impending fire, after which they evacuated the farm themselves. Also, one of the local residents said that the fire on the territory of the dacha association occurred at lunchtime and started from the local nursery.

"We were sitting on the veranda, having lunch too, and the fire [broke out] and that's it, and then the fuss started. [They started] packing up, leaving the country," he said.

The footage also shows that many forest areas are engulfed in smoke from fires throughout the region. At the same time, fire services and equipment are working at the scene of the incident.

Fires are being extinguished by more than 3,000 people, and the number of specialists in difficult regions is constantly increasing.

The day before, the head of the Federal Forestry Agency, Ivan Advisers, said that the difficult fire situation in Transbaikalia was due to a combination of weather and human factors, when citizens grossly violate fire safety rules in forests.
