In Montreal, eco-activists doused Picasso's painting "L'htare" with paint

In Montreal, environmental activists from the "Canada's Last Generation" movement doused a painting by Pablo Picasso "L'htare" with pink paint, which was exhibited at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. This is reported by the Montreal Gazette.
The incident occurred on June 19th. It is noted that the 21-year-old eco-activist threw paint on the canvas, while two more participants filmed the incident on video. According to the newspaper, one person was arrested for hooliganism, but later released before the start of court proceedings.
The representative of the movement also explained his action by the fact that local authorities spend more money on protecting works of art than on providing for the needs of their citizens. In addition, representatives of the museum stated that there were no signs of damage to the painting during the inspection, due to the presence of protective glass.
At the same time, with these actions, activists are trying to get the government to create a service to protect against climate disasters and help residents whose homes were damaged by natural disasters and forest fires, adds "Газета.Ru ".
In February last year, environmental activists from the Riposte Alimentaire movement poured soup over the painting "Spring" by artist Claude Monet at the Museum of Fine Arts in Lyon.
