A resident of Tuapse was detained for trying to join a terrorist organization

A local resident was detained in Tuapse, who planned to take part in the activities of a terrorist organization banned in Russia. This was announced on June 24 by the Department of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation for the Krasnodar Territory.

According to the investigation, a 48-year-old man contacted a representative of a terrorist organization engaged in recruiting volunteers to participate in military operations against the Russian Armed Forces, and after receiving appropriate instructions, he tried to leave the country.

It is specified that the attacker was detained at a transport infrastructure facility. A criminal case has been opened against the man under Part 1 of Article 30, Part 2 of Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Participation in the activities of an organization that is recognized as terrorist in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation").

On June 19, the investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Stavropol Territory reported that a criminal case had been opened against a 17-year-old local resident suspected of organizing terrorist activities. According to the investigation, the teenager anonymously ran a channel in which he posted posts promoting terrorist ideology.
