- The experiment on the registration of citizens on the border of the Russian Federation and Kazakhstan will start on June 30.

The launch of the experiment on the registration of citizens on the border of Russia and Kazakhstan will start on June 30 this year. This was announced on June 24 by the press service of the Russian Embassy in the republic.
"The new registration procedure for foreign citizens entering the Russian Federation, introduced as an experiment, is not a change in the visa—free regime for mutual trips of citizens of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan," the website says.
At the same time, the experiment involves entry into the Russian territory through the registration procedure in the Unified Identification and Authentication System, as well as the provision of documents in electronic form from a mobile application. Also, when crossing the border, you will need to show the document whose data was entered into the ruID.
The embassy clarified that participation in the experiment is voluntary, and it also does not affect the procedure for entry to Russia on a regular or electronic visa. It is noted that such an initiative will last until June 30, 2026.
In May, the Federation Council approved a law on conducting an experiment in Moscow and the Moscow Region to register migrants through a specific mobile application that will collect information about the geolocation of foreign citizens.
