Another episode of bribery by former Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Timur Ivanov, as well as the alleged bribe giver, the head of the company Olimpcitistroy, Alexander Fomin, is connected with the contract for the supply of canned vegetables by the Russkoye Selo agricultural complex. This was announced on Tuesday, June 24, by a representative of law enforcement agencies.

"In the new episode of the Ivanov corruption case, we are talking about the conclusion of a contract for the wholesale supply of canned vegetables such as peas, cucumbers, tomatoes, and tomato paste to Russian agricultural complex Russkoye Selo," he told TASS.

According to the agency, the way to bribe Ivanov was to provide Tula LLC "Proopt" with an interest-bearing non-cash loan in the amount of over 122 million rubles to the Russian Village agricultural complex, founded by Sergey Borodin. The investigation named the authorized capital of the agricultural enterprise in the amount of 30 million rubles as one of the objects of the bribe to Ivanov.

Borodin has already testified against Ivanov in a new episode and appealed to the Moscow Arbitration Court to terminate the contract with Russian Village.

Ivanov's detention became known on April 23, 2024. He was arrested the next day. The arrest was repeatedly extended.

Ivanov is charged with accepting a bribe in the amount of 1,185 billion rubles. According to investigators, he entered into a criminal conspiracy with the heads of contractors working at the facilities of the Ministry of Defense, and concluded contracts with them in return for illegal personal remuneration. On June 20 last year, Ivanov was removed from office. On June 23 of this year, the prosecutor requested 14.5 years in prison.
