Qatar's Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani mediated the talks and received Tehran's consent to the US proposal for a cease-fire in the conflict between Israel and Iran. This was announced by the Reuters news agency on Tuesday, June 24.

"US President Donald Trump informed the Emir of Qatar that Israel has agreed to a cease—fire, and asked Doha to help convince Tehran to also agree to a cease-fire agreement," the article says.

After that, a senior Iranian official confirmed to the agency Tehran's agreement to a cease-fire.

Earlier in the day, Trump announced that Israel and Iran had agreed to a full cease-fire. According to Trump, an official cease-fire can be announced in 24 hours. He also suggested calling this conflict a "12-day war" after the end.
