The escalation in the Middle East was caused by Israel's "irresponsible actions" in Lebanon, Syria, Iran and the Gaza Strip. This was announced on Monday, June 23, by the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Majid Al-Ansari.

"The escalation began with Israel's irresponsible actions in Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon, Syria and Iran," The Guardian newspaper quoted him as saying.

The diplomat added that Qatar's mediation role in the region would not be stopped by "any illegal actions by either side."

According to the newspaper, Qatar acted as a key third-party mediator on a number of geopolitical issues, including mediation in cease-fire negotiations between Israel and the radical Palestinian movement Hamas.

On the same day, it was reported that Iran launched 11 missiles at US military bases in Qatar and Iraq during Operation Good News of Victory.

According to the Qatari Defense Ministry, there were no casualties as a result of the attack on the Al-Udeid base. According to the official representative of the emirate's Foreign Ministry, Majid bin Mohammed al-Ansari, the Qatari and American military were evacuated from the military base in advance.
