Flights from Qatar airport began to be postponed after the Iranian attack and the launch of air defense systems. Sergei Ulanov, an eyewitness, told Izvestia about this on June 23.

"In Qatar, we optimistically went to the airport. The first thing we saw was the work of the air defense. It was the distant sounds of explosions somewhere, not near the airport. So, accordingly, after that our flight was postponed for an hour, two, then two more," he said.

Sergey flew to Qatar for the event. He only found out about the closure of the airspace over the country at the end from another participant. The man said that if the restrictions continued, he would try to get to Dubai by car on his own.

At the same time, he pointed to the rather calm reaction of people to what was happening.

"Even during the moment when the air defense was firing, everything was just being filmed, and no one was worried, no one was panicking. Therefore, I think, in general, everything will be fine," Ulanov shared.

Earlier that day, the Federal Air Transport Agency ordered airlines not to operate flights over Iraq and Qatar. It is reported that this measure was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the Middle East and to ensure flight safety. The order will be valid until 2:59 a.m. Moscow time on June 26.

Later it was reported that Aeroflot operates flights to Dubai and Abu Dhabi on safe routes. If necessary, the company is ready to make adjustments to the flight schedule.
