Residents of Kamchatka gave 270 million rubles to fraudsters

Since the beginning of 2025, residents of the Kamchatka Territory have lost 270 million rubles due to fraudsters. Criminal cases have been initiated on each fact.

In May alone, the damage exceeded 50 million rubles. Among the victims was an elderly resident of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, with whom the scammers communicated on behalf of the vodokanal. The woman agreed to transfer 3.5 million rubles to outside accounts under the pretext of replacing meters. This is reported by the KamchatkaMedia news agency.

In Ossory, two people lost 1.2 million rubles by trusting false investors.

In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, an eighth-grader transferred almost 3 million rubles to fraudsters. The scammers convinced a 14-year-old boy that his parents were facing criminal liability in connection with "financial terrorism."
