The first summer mushroom wave is always uneven, said Mikhail Vishnevsky, a mycologist and Candidate of biological Sciences.

"In the Moscow region, there are traditionally two more mushroom directions: one — to the west, towards Zvenigorod, the other — to the south, towards Kashira and the Prioksko-Terrasny State Reserve. These are the most fungal places. But you can help in the north, and in the east — near the Meshcherskaya lowland swamp," the expert said in an interview with Radio 1 on June 20.

He added that even in the season, half of the mushroom pickers can return with empty baskets, and the other half with full ones.
