Bloggers are asking Roskomnadzor for advertising relief, and the Association of Bloggers and Agencies sent a letter asking them not to delete old content to Roskomnadzor. The document was reviewed by Izvestia on June 24.

Earlier, Vladimir Logunov, deputy head of Roskomnadzor, said at the SPIEF that bloggers would have to remove advertising creatives from banned social networks by September 1 of this year, otherwise they would be punished by law. He recalled that on September 1, a law comes into force that excludes the distribution of advertising on banned extremist resources blocked in the Russian Federation.

The ABA document notes that the mass removal of old materials can create significant financial and technical difficulties for market participants. The authors of the initiative compare the proposed relaxation with the rules previously in force for unmarked advertising.

"We propose to consider the possibility of non—deletion of materials posted before 09/01/2025, by analogy with the norm for non-deletion of unmarked materials released before 09/01/2022," the letter says.

For content authors, advertising integrations are unique personal content that is organically embedded in the overall content grid. Removing all advertising content can negatively affect the overall picture of social media formation as a whole, the letter adds.

If, however, the removal of old materials is required, the authors ask to clarify from which date it will be necessary to carry out such actions - from September 1, 2022 or earlier. Roskomnadzor told Izvestia that it was strongly recommended to transfer advertising activity to Russian Internet resources.
