The statement by US President Donald Trump about a possible change of power in Iran is speculative. Stanislav Tarasov, a political scientist and expert on the problems of the Middle East and the Caucasus, expressed this opinion on Monday, June 23.

According to the expert, there are certain nuances here. He recalled that the Americans had warned that they would strike at nuclear facilities, and also that their operation was practically military in nature and aimed at overthrowing the regime.

"At the same time, Trump tried to mediate [Turkish President Recep Tayyip] the day before. Erdogan agreed to negotiate with Tehran, but they could not contact the supreme leader of Iran," the political scientist said in a conversation with Lenta.Ru .

The orientalist said that with his contradictory statements, Trump is masking his own intentions.

Earlier, Trump said that if Iranian politicians do not implement the slogan "make Iran great again," then there may be a change of power in Tehran. 360.ru .

Trump also accompanied his publication with the acronym MIGA (Make Iran Great Again), which is a reference to his political slogan MAGA (Make America Great Again), according to the website. kp.ru .

On June 21, the American leader announced that the US Armed Forces had attacked three Iranian nuclear facilities, Regnum news agency reports. On the same day, he threatened Tehran with new missile strikes if the conflict was not resolved.
