Fraudsters often try to take advantage of gullible job seekers in the labor market. Vladislav Bykhanov, Managing Partner of CORNERSTONE HR company, told Izvestia on June 25 about the most common deception schemes.

One method is to charge a fee for registering a resume or accessing a job database. Bykhanov explained that scammers offer access to exclusive bets for a small amount. However, in fact, there is no database and the money goes into the pockets of the attackers.

"Never pay for posting your resume or accessing job databases. Legal resume placement services are free for applicants," the expert emphasized.

Fraudsters can also convince the victim that it is necessary to take paid courses or trainings in order to get a job. After payment, it turns out that the training is either substandard or completely absent.

In addition, Bykhanov added that there are fictitious recruiting companies that collect personal data of applicants under the pretext of employment. As a result, it turns out that such agencies do not exist, and the information is used for other purposes.

"Check the company for licenses and reviews. Make sure that the agency's website has been running for a long time and has contact information. And only then trust," the source said.,

In addition, fraudsters often use a scheme with advance payments. The employer offers the assignment, but requires a deposit to cover the cost of materials or equipment. According to the expert, the money disappears along with the employer.

Bykhanov stressed that real employers never require payment for employment opportunities. He urged to be careful, double-check information and trust your intuition.

On the same day, the Department for combating the illegal use of information and communication technologies (UBK) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation told about a new type of fraud: intruders call Russians, offering to extend the communication contract, and ask them to provide the authorization code from SMS. After receiving this code, they gain access to accounts and make calls on behalf of law enforcement agencies or Rosfinmonitoring.
