The Southern District Military Court sentenced the second person involved in the criminal case on the preparation of an assassination attempt on the head of Crimea Sergey Aksyonov, Vladimir Bodnar, to 13 years in prison. Victoria Mishchenko, the court's press secretary, told Izvestia on June 23.

On May 14, Oksana Shevchenko, another person involved in the attempted murder of Aksyonov, was sentenced to 10 years in prison in a general regime penal colony, as well as a fine of 500 thousand rubles. In August 2024, the Southern District Military Court also sentenced Igor Korchinsky, a resident of Crimea, to 18 years in prison and a fine of 350 thousand rubles for preparing an assassination attempt.
In July 2024, Aksyonov said that more than ten defendants in cases of attempted murder were awaiting sentencing. Then he added that all the perpetrators will be punished. At the end of May, the head of Crimea also reported four attempts on his life in the last year alone. In all cases, the attackers were detained. One of the attempts to assassinate Aksyonov was prevented in July 2023 by FSB officers.
