Russia and Mali are actively developing bilateral relations, including in the field of defense. This was announced on June 23 by Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov at talks with the head of the military department of Mali, Corps General Sadio Camara.

"The regular nature of our meetings testifies to mutual interest and the dynamic development of Russian-Malian defense ties," Belousov is quoted as saying on the Telegram channel of the Russian Defense Ministry.
