The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported an increase in the fire area in Transbaikalia to 2.5 thousand hectares.

Near the village of Atamanovka, there is a large natural fire with an area of 2.5 thousand hectares. This was reported on June 23 in the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations.

"Extinguishing is complicated by weather conditions: it is hot in the region, wind gusts reach 20 m/s. The riding fire spread to the abandoned non—residential buildings of the SNT "Locomotive", people do not live there," the Telegram channel of the department clarified.

More than 300 employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and 70 pieces of equipment are involved in extinguishing the fire. Firefighting aircraft are involved: Be-200, Il-76 aircraft and Mi-8 helicopter. In total, the aircraft dropped more than 300 tons of water.

The staff of the Ministry of Emergency Situations protected a gas station, a zoo nursery, a road repair company and country houses from the fire. However, as emphasized in the department, the danger remains for the village of Atamanovka.
