But the American "Materialist" with Dakota Johnson also broke into the top and finished in second place, also with the highest operating time per session. The comedy with Yuri Stoyanov "To Grandpa's Village" has been leading the box office for two weeks now. According to the EAIS (unified federal automatic information system for information about movie screenings in cinemas), over the past weekend, the picture of debutant Vlad Bogush collected 102 million rubles.

The comedy repeated its success twice. Released on June 12, "To Grandpa's Village" earned 143 million rubles in its first weekend. Then the gap from the second line, which housed Len Wiseman's Hollywood action movie "Ballerina", amounted to 46 million rubles. Now the total fees of the comedy are already more than 300 million rubles. The film stars Ingrid Olerinskaya, Tatiana Orlova, Anton Filipenko, Alexander Ilyin, Yaroslav Golovnev, Miron Lebedev, Alice Rudenko. Success is due not only to the cast of popular artists, but also to the lightness and unpretentiousness of the story. You can go to such a movie with the whole family, and the children on vacation will be happy to laugh at the misadventures of the naughty boy and his grandfather.

The film tells the story of ten—year-old Vladik (Yaroslav Golovnev), who is sent away for the summer to the countryside. The boy survives all the nannies his mother finds for him (Ingrid Olerinskaya). While she is on a business trip, the grandfather (Yuri Stoyanov) will have to deal with the upbringing of the teenager. Father and daughter had not spoken for twelve years: once he did not approve of her choice, but she decided to live her life. Vladik is against going to the countryside, because he has an important event coming up — an IT contest where he expects to win a big cash prize, and he can't leave the city in any way. But mom is adamant, and grandfather agrees to look after his grandson. Vladik decides to drive his grandfather to white heat so that he expels the boy to the city. But a grandson should learn perseverance and ingenuity from the older generation: the grandfather himself can bring anyone to anything.

Marry a millionaire

In second place is Celine Son's "The Materialist" starring Dakota Johnson, Chris Evans and Pedro Pascal, a light but not at all silly romantic comedy. At the end of the premiere weekend, the film collected 94 million rubles, lagging behind the leader by less than 10 million. The average number of viewers in the hall is comparable to the occupancy of cinemas showing "To Grandpa's Village" — 15-21 people. But tickets for the "Materialist" screenings with an age limit of 18+ were more expensive, so the operating time for the "Materialist" session was very high, almost 10 thousand rubles. Izvestia asked Olga Zinyakova, president of the KARO cinema chain, to explain why the release with Dakota Johnson worked so well.

— It's no coincidence that the "Materialist" romcom from Oscar nominee Celine Son broke into the top rental of the weekend, — Olga Zinyakova is sure. — Pedro Pascal, Dakota Johnson and Chris Evans are very popular with the Russian audience. The film had no competitors within the genre, film lovers missed the light and pleasant aftertaste of romcoms. The picture was also marked by an extensive marketing campaign both in the American information field and in the Russian one.

In the story, Lucy (Dakota Johnson) works in a dating service. By connecting people, she finds them a soulmate among the bachelors and bachelors from the upper strata of New York. But no one can interest Lucy herself. She's not in a hurry to change her "free" status. The Evil Eye" by Abel Gongor and Fugi Yamashiro collected 17.6 million rubles, the sixth place at the weekend box office. Although this is not even a full meter, but several episodes combined into one session.

—Dandadan is one of the main anime hits of last year,— says Olga Zinyakova. — Dandadan: The Evil Eye is currently in cinemas, it includes the first three episodes of the second season and an exclusive interview with the directors of the project. This anime has a large community of fans who were looking forward to the release of the second season and were ready to go to the cinema to see at least the first three episodes.
