- Reuters has learned that the United States expects a retaliatory strike from Iran in the coming days.

The United States expects Iran to retaliate within the next two days. This was reported by the Reuters news agency on June 23, citing an unnamed American official.
"The United States believes that Iran may launch retaliatory strikes against American forces in the Middle East in the near future. <...> Iran's retaliatory attack may occur within the next day or two," the agency points out.
At the same time, two US officials noted that the American side is still looking for a diplomatic solution that will allow the Islamic Republic to abandon any attacks.
On June 21, US President Donald Trump announced a successful attack on three nuclear facilities of the Islamic Republic — in Fordo, Natanz and Isfahan. On the same day, he threatened Tehran with new missile strikes if the conflict was not resolved.
On June 23, the commander-in-chief of the Iranian army, Amir Hatami, announced the direct involvement of the United States in the war after supporting Israeli attacks on the territory of the republic. He stressed that Washington would receive a decisive response.
