A fragment of the scarlet sail will be transferred to the Museum of the World Ocean

On June 25, a fragment of a real scarlet sail, the symbol of the Scarlet Sails Alumni Holiday, will depart from St. Petersburg to Kaliningrad. The fabric, designed in the form of a three-dimensional painting, will be donated to the Museum of the World Ocean. This was reported on June 23 in the press service of Channel Five.
The ceremony of handing over the fabric will take place before the start of the non-stop sailing cruise of sailing yachts "Russia in the Baltic".
Oleg Nikolaev, captain of the brig Rossiya, will present a gift to the museum. According to the organizers, the transfer of the sail fragment will strengthen ties between the regions and museum residences in the Baltic.
The fragment will be delivered to Kaliningrad on one of the participating yachts of the Russia in the Baltic project.
"This year, the yachts will be accompanied by the training sailing and motor vessel Yuny Baltiets. In 2008, it was this two-masted schooner that played the role of the galliot Secret at the Scarlet Sails Alumni celebration. He walked along the Neva River and opened a pyrotechnic show with his appearance," the message added.
Earlier, on June 14, the organizers of the Scarlet Sails said that the key theme of the holiday in 2025, declared the Year of Defender of the Fatherland, is victory.
In 2024, the graduation celebration was held for the 20th anniversary after the resumption of the celebration tradition. On the night of June 29, thousands of graduates from all over Russia attended a large-scale and long-awaited event. The holiday was revived after a long-term hiatus in 2005 on the initiative of ROSSIYA Joint Stock Bank, the government of St. Petersburg and Channel Five.
