- Szijjarto promised to prevent Ukrainian agricultural products from entering EU markets

Hungary will not allow agricultural products to enter Ukraine before its accession to the European Union (EU), as this could ruin Hungarian farmers. This was announced on June 23 by Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto.
"Ukraine demands <...> that its agricultural products be on the EU markets as soon as possible even before its accession. This would mean that Hungarian farmers would have to compete with cheap, low—quality agricultural products," Szijjarto told reporters after a meeting of EU foreign ministers. The broadcast was carried out on the M1 TV channel's YouTube page.
According to the minister, such a development could ruin farmers from Hungary, and Budapest will not allow this.
In addition, Szijjarto stressed that Hungary would not allow Ukraine to take a single step towards the EU until Kiev returned the rights to the Hungarian community in Transcarpathia.
On May 23, the representative of the European Commission, Balash Uvari, announced that the EU had decided not to extend the temporary duty-free import of agricultural products from Ukraine. He clarified that starting from June 6, Ukraine will lose preferential access to the European market, and its goods will again be subject to standard customs duties.
