WHO has reported at least 40 deaths in an attack on a hospital in Sudan


More than 40 people, including six children and five health workers, were killed in an attack on a hospital in the province of West Kordofan in southern Sudan. This was announced on June 23 by the World Health Organization (WHO).
"WHO is shocked by the attack on the Al-Mujlad hospital in West Kordofan, which led to dozens of injuries and more than 40 deaths among the civilian population," the organization said in a statement on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
The WHO added that the hospital building was seriously damaged as a result of the attack.
On January 26, the Associated Press reported that about 70 people were killed in an attack on a hospital in the Darfur region of Sudan. It was specified that it was the only functioning hospital in the region.
