The expert named the main factors of the bitcoin price growth

The recent decline in bitcoin and other risky assets is linked to rising geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. Ilya Sivoplyas, head of the WhiteBird crypto platform's exchange trading department, shared this opinion in an interview with Izvestia on June 23.

Earlier it was reported that the cost of bitcoin on Sunday, June 22, dropped below $100,000 for the first time since May 8.

"The causal chain here is obvious: the escalation of the conflict raises oil prices, oil accelerates inflation, inflation pushes central banks to tighten monetary policy - and risky assets tend to suffer in a tight monetary environment," he explained.

According to him, much now depends on the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, the "key artery" of global oil exports.

"If Iran decides to close the strait, we should not be surprised by the jump in oil prices to $100-120 per barrel. In this scenario, we can expect bitcoin to roll back to the levels of $ 80-85 thousand," the expert said.

The expert identified two key growth factors for bitcoin: first, the cycle of global liquidity expansion, which is likely to continue until 2026. Secondly, fiscal incentives, such as large-scale support programs in the United States, including the expected "Big Fine Bill." If there are no external shocks and the US economy avoids recession, bitcoin could reach $120-150 thousand by the end of the year.

At the same time, the current corrections, in his opinion, rather open up buying opportunities.

"Geopolitics can make adjustments, but the cycle structure remains bullish," Sivoplyas summed up.
