The Russian car market has surpassed the target of 500,000 cars sold

According to the results of the 25th week of 2025, the Russian automobile market exceeded the target of 500 thousand cars sold. This was reported on June 23 by the analytical agency Autostat.

From June 16 to June 22, 23.6 thousand new passenger cars were sold in the country. This is 20.7% lower than a year ago (in May 2024), but 52.7% higher than in the previous week, where car registrations were affected by the celebration of Russia Day. Total sales since the beginning of the year have reached 504.8 thousand passenger cars.

Experts noted that their spring forecast was coming true, according to which, even with the most favorable set of circumstances, the Russian car market in 2025 would not be able to achieve the result of 2024, when 1.57 million cars were sold.

Experts call the negative factors affecting sales the high level of prices and their expected growth due to indexation of recycling, high rates of car loans and reduced availability, high inflation, the transition of some buyers to a savings model of behavior and the lack of official supplies of global brands.
