Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug is gradually being freed from flood waters


Large amounts of water are gradually receding in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug. Flooded suburban areas are being emptied of water.
The water level in the Ob River in the eastern part of the region has decreased by 18 cm over the past day. There is still a slight increase in water in the western part of the district, but the situation is expected to stabilize by the end of the week, writes <url> news agency, citing Director of the Regional Security Department Sergey Shpanov.
The agency clarifies that in early June, about 300 sites were flooded in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug. Now their number has decreased to 216.
The regional Ministry of Emergency Situations informs that 86 household plots were partially flooded in the Nizhnevartovsk area, but the water left 14 yards during the day. 62 sites were flooded in the Langepas area, but three of them were free of water during the day. There is no dynamics in Megion yet, the water is on 20 sites.
Reservoirs are not rising or the water is falling in most cities and districts of the district. The water level fluctuates from -5 to +3 cm in the Ob River, from -3 to +1 cm in the Irtysh River, and from -18 to +1 cm in the Northern Sosva River. And on the Lyapin River, the water level dropped by 22 cm.
The high alert regime is still in effect in 8 municipalities.
In early June, it was reported that the largest flood in 25 years was recorded in the city of Tarko-Sale in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District (Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District). The reason is a sharp rise in temperature, which provoked rapid snowmelt. At the same time, the snow cover in the area was very high this year.
