- Kallas announced the implementation of 80% of the EU initiative on the supply of ammunition for the Armed Forces of Ukraine

The European Union (EU) has sent Kiev 80% of the promised weapons as part of an initiative to provide Ukraine with 2 million rounds of ammunition by the end of 2025. This was announced on June 23 by the head of the European Diplomacy, Kaya Kallas.
"I am pleased to inform you that 80% of the commitments of the ammunition initiative have already been fulfilled, but more needs to be done to collect 2 million ammunition by the end of the year," Kallas said before the meeting of EU foreign ministers in Brussels.
She also stressed that the meeting would be attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sibiga.
Earlier, on April 9, Kalas said that the EU was experiencing financial difficulties with the planned supply of 2 million artillery shells to Ukraine. At the same time, the head of European diplomacy noted that various European countries are contributing to the achievement of this goal.
Later, on May 21, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga announced that EU countries had so far transferred two thirds of the promised 2 million ammunition to Kiev. He also stated the need to make "bold and big decisions" to accelerate the process of Ukraine's accession to the EU.
