Over the past weekend, 601 accidents occurred on Russian roads, in which 67 people were killed and 757 injured. At the same time, 56 of the dead were passengers and drivers.
So, in the Chelyabinsk Region, on 1,652 km of the federal highway M-5 Ural, a truck driver with a semi-trailer drove into the oncoming lane, where he collided with another truck, after which both cars caught fire. As a result of the accident, the culprit of the car accident was killed, the second driver was hospitalized. Due to an accident, traffic on this section of the highway temporarily stopped until late at night, and vehicles were diverted by traffic police officers.

18 accidents involving buses were recorded, in which three people were killed, and another 25 road users, including five children, required medical assistance. Nine bus accidents were caused by traffic violations committed by their drivers.

107 accidents involving minors were also registered, in which 123 young road users were injured, including 53 passengers, 10 cyclists and 26 drivers of vehicles. Four children were killed: a pedestrian, a passenger and two drivers.

Two of his passengers were killed in the accident, including the driver's 12-year-old daughter, who was in the back seat and was not wearing a seat belt. In the city of Kyzyl in the Republic of Tuva, a 36-year-old drunk motorist, without a driver's license, drove a recently purchased but not duly registered crossover into two pedestrians in the evening — a father with a four-year-old son crossing the roadway at an unregulated pedestrian crossing. Pedestrians died. In the Moscow region, late in the evening, on a regional highway, a 15-year-old motorcyclist without a driver's license drove into the oncoming lane in a prohibited place, where he collided with a passenger car. A young motor transport driver was killed.
In the Leningrad Region, early in the morning, on 51 km of the A-215 federal highway, a 15-year-old driver of a passenger car he had purchased a few days before the incident lost control and drove off the road, followed by a rollover. As a result of the accident, his 14-year-old passenger, who was in the back seat and was not wearing a seat belt, died. The culprit of the car accident and two other passengers of the car, including the same age as the deceased schoolgirl, were hospitalized with injuries. The State Traffic Inspectorate called on parents to strictly monitor and stop attempts by children and teenagers to get behind the wheel of vehicles on their own, as well as to exclude for them the possibility of accessing the keys of cars, mopeds and motorcycles, prohibiting driving cars and motor vehicles without the appropriate rights and skills. The administrative fine for transferring the right to drive cars and motor vehicles to children who do not have a driver's license of the appropriate category is 30 thousand rubles.
The agency recommended motorists to abandon risky driving, exceeding the permitted speed limit, sudden changes of lanes, overtaking and other dangerous maneuvers — especially during rain on wet roads. It is important to strictly follow the rules for the safe transportation of children.
"In addition, we urge road users not to remain indifferent to the problem of drunkenness at the wheel and promptly inform the police about drivers who behave inappropriately on the road and drive drunk. Employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate are ready to take all necessary operational measures to respond to such reports," said Police Colonel Sergey Hrantskevich, head of the Department for Road Safety Promotion and Prevention of child traffic injuries at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.
