Russia and Iran are conducting close consultations to counter common threats. This was announced on June 23 by the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic, Abbas Araqchi, after arriving in Moscow.

"Russia and I always have common concerns, common problems and common enemies, and we always think together, support each other and consult closely to counter common challenges and threats," the IRNA news agency quoted him as saying on the Telegram channel.

He stressed that he would discuss these issues at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday.

The IRNA news agency reported on Araqchi's arrival in Moscow on June 22. It was noted that he arrived to consult with the president and other senior Russian officials about the events following the military aggression of the United States and Israel against Iran. Later, Arakchi's arrival was also confirmed to Izvestia by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.
