In Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, two men died after being attacked by a bear. This was reported on June 23 by the investigative Department of the Investigative Committee for the Sakhalin region.

It is specified that the man was attacked by a bear near "Three deer". He died in an ambulance from his injuries. Later, the body of another man was found near the scene of the incident.

"A criminal case has been opened against officials of the control and prevention authorities over the deaths of men who suffered from the paws of a bear under Part 3 of Article 293 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Negligence resulting in the death of two persons by negligence)," the Telegram channel says.

The department added that all the circumstances of the incident are currently being established.
