Two employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations were detained in the Trans-Baikal Territory for accepting bribes

Two heads of the State Inspection Center for Small Vessels (GIMS) The Main Directorate (GU) of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations was detained for accepting bribes for help with passing a theoretical exam and obtaining certificates for the right to operate small vessels. This was reported on June 23 in the press service of the Federal Security Service of Russia for the Trans-Baikal Territory.

"It has been established that two heads of the GIMS center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Trans—Baikal Territory have organized a criminal scheme since 2023 to receive funds for assistance in passing a theoretical exam and obtaining certificates <...> without an actual test of knowledge and practical skills," the report says.

The amount of the bribe, as specified, ranged from 30 to 50 thousand rubles and depended on the category of driver's license received. During the investigation, 20 facts of money receipt by the suspects were revealed. A criminal case was opened into the incident under Part 5 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Receiving a bribe").

On March 30, the traffic Patrol Service (DPS) of the Traffic Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Vladivostok approved an indictment in a criminal case on accepting bribes against five former traffic police inspectors. They came up with a scheme according to which improperly parked cars were sent to pre-determined parking lots. For this, in the period from January 2021 to October 2023, more than 700 thousand rubles were transferred to them.
