The crew of a T-80BVM tank of the 74th motorized Rifle brigade of the Center group of forces destroyed a stronghold of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Red Army area of a special military operation. This was announced by the Russian Defense Ministry on June 23.

It is clarified that the Russian military received the coordinates of the target from calculations of reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), which also performed adjustments throughout the operation. After that, the enemy stronghold was destroyed with the help of 125-millimeter high-explosive fragmentation shells.

"We found a large accumulation of equipment and monitored it for several days. They gave us a command and that's it, the point no longer exists," Ivanov said.

He noted that the tank of this model can perform tasks to defeat the enemy at a distance of six, seven, and sometimes 12 km. At the same time, he particularly emphasized the coherence of the crew, whose members "understand each other perfectly."

The tank's driver, Vladimir Kondratiev, highlighted the maneuverability of the T-80BVM tank, and his colleague, gunner-operator Konstantin Provotorov, listing his duties, clarified that the process of aiming at a target set by reconnaissance takes approximately five seconds.

The sapper operator, Nikolai Kuznetsov, who holds the air surveillance post, said that the Bulat UAV detector, which calculates their range and approach, helps him in drone detection operations.

The ministry reported that after completing the task, the crew, having previously camouflaged the tank in position, successfully went to shelter.

On June 22, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that a missile strike had hit the AFU training ground in the Kherson region, which was located near the settlement of Davydov Brod. In addition, as specified in the department, a Ram-type drone destroyed the anti-aircraft defense (air defense) team that was covering this training ground.
