A naval search and strike group consisting of small anti-submarine ships MPK-107, MPK-82 and Ust-Ilimsk conducted reconnaissance and search operations with combat training exercises off the coast of Kamchatka and in the northern Pacific Ocean during an exercise with the Pacific Fleet. This was reported on June 23 in the press service of the Pacific Fleet.

It is specified that the crews of the IPC have worked out a set of measures to search for surface ships and submarines of a simulated enemy, as well as conducted naval exercises on air defense and repelling attacks by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and unmanned boats (BEC).

In the course of practical actions, the crews of the ships used automatic artillery installations AK-630M, providing high fire density and effectiveness in repelling attacks by small UAVs and back-up.

A key element of the exercise was the joint firing of ships at a surface naval target from 76-mm AK-176M artillery systems.

In addition, the sailors conducted shipboard exercises on the protection and defense of ships when parked in an unprotected raid at night with preventive grenade throwing, as well as firing from heavy machine guns and small arms at maneuverable surface targets.

The ministry noted that the exercises will be held from June 16 to June 30 in the waters of the Pacific Ocean, the Sea of Okhotsk and the Sea of Japan under the leadership of Admiral Viktor Liina, Commander of the Pacific Fleet. In total, 40 ships, boats and support vessels, as well as over 30 aircraft and helicopters of naval aviation are involved in them. In addition, more than 5,000 military personnel and civilian specialists, as well as combat crews of coastal missile systems, are participating in the exercises.

On June 20, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that Pacific Fleet ships consisting of the frigate Marshal Shaposhnikov and the large anti-submarine ship Admiral Tributs conducted artillery firing at sea and air targets in the Pacific Ocean.
