Oleg Zubkov, the director of the Taigan Park, who was attacked by a lion, is in serious condition and is in intensive care. Andrey Doroshenko, Chief Thoracic surgeon of the Republic of Crimea, told Izvestia about this on June 22.

"The patient's trachea is damaged, the neck muscles are damaged <...> and the large pectoral muscle on the left. <...> He is now in intensive care in serious condition," the surgeon said.

Doroshenko noted that the operation was carried out for three hours, while Zubakov's condition was stabilized. However, it is too early to make specific predictions, the doctor added.

The predator's attack on the director of the Taigan Park became known on June 22. Savely Vashura, director of the zoo in Mariupol, a colleague of the victim, noted that Zubakov always communicated with predators as with small children. Later it became known that Zubakov was operated on and left until morning in the Belgorod Central Regional Hospital.
