The volume of dietary supplements supplied to pharmacies has increased almost one and a half times since 2020

From 2020 to 2024, sales of dietary supplements increased 1.4 times, from 321.8 million packages to 452.6 million, the analytical company DSM Group told Izvestia.

Izvestia's investigation drew the agency's attention to the ProZdorovye newspaper and the Zdravomed website

Logistics companies also confirmed to the editorial staff that they had recorded a rapid increase in the supply of dietary supplements and food additives to pharmacies. The number of orders, according to one of them, increased by eight and fivefold.

Pharmacies also confirmed that they have begun to actively increase purchases of dietary supplements. Thus, the Rigla network said that in 2020, the volume of dietary supplements supplies amounted to 8% of total purchases, and in 2024 it was already 24%. The increase in the volume of dietary supplements purchases was also confirmed in the pharmacy chain "36.6".

The increase in supplies was also confirmed to Izvestia by a representative of one of the companies that supplies them to pharmacy chains.

"Since 2022, the share of requests for the supply of dietary supplements and dietary supplements has gradually increased and now stands at 25%," the source added.

And three years ago, according to him, it accounted for 5%.
