On June 23, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported on the exploits of Russian military personnel in the area of the special military operation (SVO).

The ministry noted the actions of Guard Corporal Pavel Suponin, who, as part of the command platoon, provided stable and uninterrupted communication between the command post and electronic warfare (EW) groups during the offensive actions of Russian units in an important tactical area. While retreating, the militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) opened mortar fire on the advancing Russian groups. As a result of the shelling, the communication scheme with maneuverable electronic warfare groups was disrupted.

Despite the incessant shelling, Suponin moved forward to search for a malfunction. Moving along the communication line, he successfully located and repaired the damaged cable. After that, the EW maneuver groups were able to resume full-fledged interaction with the battalion's management and promptly complete their assigned combat missions. Thanks to Suponin's bold and prompt actions, the communication line was restored, which contributed to the high-quality cover of the assault units from attacks by Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and the successful advance of our advancing forces.

In addition, the Russian Defense Ministry drew attention to the actions of Guard sailor Nikolai Rakov, who performed the tasks of delivering logistical equipment to Russian units and repeatedly flew to areas in the immediate vicinity of the line of contact. Ukrainian militants attempted to destroy the vehicle in which Rakov was traveling by hitting it with mortars. As a result, the vehicle was damaged and out of service.

Despite the threat to his life, he, showing courage and acting under intense mortar fire, managed to restore the vehicle's operability, get it out of the firing zone and deliver the cargo to the positions in the shortest possible time. Thanks to his decisive actions, ammunition was delivered to the front line in a timely manner, which allowed the assault groups to successfully break through the enemy's defenses and gain a foothold in new positions.
