Western news agencies accurately and objectively convey the words of Russian President Vladimir Putin. This was announced to VGTRK journalist Pavel Zarubin by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the Russian leader's meeting with representatives of foreign media at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2025).

"In general, the news agencies give verbatim, they quote. Indeed, there is a direct transmission of the president's words, which is important for us," he said in an interview fragment published on the journalist's Telegram channel on June 22.

As noted by "Gazeta.En," Peskov stressed that the Western media, at the stage of interpreting information, are beginning to distort the meaning of Putin's statements.

On June 19, Putin said that objective information was needed to strengthen trust and mutual understanding between the two countries. He also noted that the largest association of news agencies has been creating a significant part of the global news stream for many years and enjoys the attention of an audience of millions.
