Drunk driver killed father and child in Tuva

An intoxicated driver killed a man with a four-year-old child at a pedestrian crossing in Kyzyl, Tyva Republic. This was announced on June 22 in the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the region.

According to police, the 36-year-old driver of a Nissan car did not give way to pedestrians and ran over a man and a child crossing the roadway at an unregulated crossing.

"As a result of the hit—and-run, a father and a child aged 41 and four died from the severity of their injuries at the scene," the department's Telegram channel said.

It was established that the driver did not have a driver's license, and at the time of the accident he was heavily intoxicated. The indicator in the exhaled air was 1,472 mg/l, which is nine times higher than the permissible norm.

An investigation is underway into the incident, and all the circumstances are being established.

On the same day, a massive accident involving four cars occurred on the Ring Road in St. Petersburg, resulting in the death of a man. The cars collided on the 41st km of the outer ring road.
