The United Nations Security Council (UN) will hold an emergency meeting at the request of Iran in connection with the US strikes. This was announced on June 22 at the Permanent Mission of Russia to the United Nations.

"Today— June 22, at 15:00 New York time (22:00 Moscow time)," the permanent mission's Telegram channel says.

Earlier in the day, the Russian Foreign Ministry condemned the US attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities. The ministry stressed that this irresponsible decision grossly violates the UN Charter.

On June 22, US President Donald Trump announced that the US attack was aimed at three Iranian nuclear facilities in Fordo, Natanz and Isfahan. According to Trump, the operation was successful. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that American strikes could change history.
