- WKF apologized for not allowing Russians to attend the kickboxing World Cup in Moldova.

Friedrich Exenberg, President of the International Kickboxing Federation (WKF), apologized for the non-admission of Russian athletes to the European Championship in Chisinau, which was eventually canceled. This was announced on June 22 in the Telegram channel of the Kickboxing Federation of Russia (FCR).
"We sincerely apologize for the insufficiently thorough elaboration of the issues of organization, security and diplomatic support of this event," wrote Exenberg.
He noted that the event was announced as an international tournament, but the Moldovan authorities expressed their disagreement with its holding two days before the championship.
"This decision is clearly political in nature and contradicts the fundamental principles of sport, such as neutrality, objectivity, and non—discrimination based on nationality," Exenberg said in a statement.
According to him, the WKF has made a unanimous decision to cancel the European Adult Kickboxing Championship in Chisinau and postpone it to 2026.
On June 21, the head of the FKR, Vladimir Filatov, announced that the European Kickboxing Championship in Moldova had been canceled after the Russian national team was not allowed to compete. The tournament was scheduled to be held in Chisinau on June 23-28.
