The media reported a 3.4-fold increase in wine imports from Georgia to Russia


In May, Russia increased wine imports from Georgia 3.4 times year-on-year. This was reported on June 22 by the RIA Novosti news agency, citing data from the Georgian statistical service.
"Georgian supplies in late spring increased to $17.15 million against $5 million a year earlier," the report says.
As noted by "Gazeta.Ru", this was the highest value since April last year. Despite this, according to the agency, the figures for 2025 lag behind imports in the first five months of last year — $57.7 million versus $104.5 million.
It is reported that last month Russia accounted for about 66% of all Georgian wine exports.
On April 23, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation announced that 12.4 million dal of wine were produced in Russia in January –March, which is 11.6% more than in the same period of 2024. The leaders among the regions are traditionally the Krasnodar Territory and the Republic of Crimea, which together account for more than 60% of all products produced in the country.
