- The IAEA has stated the danger of radioactive contamination at Iranian nuclear facilities

The International Nuclear Energy Agency (IAEA) has confirmed that the Iranian nuclear facilities targeted by the United States had enriched uranium, which could lead to radioactive contamination inside these facilities. The agency wrote about this in a statement on its official portal on June 22.
"According to the latest information verified by the IAEA prior to the start of the [Israeli] attacks on Iran on June 13, three sites selected by the United States as targets, including Isfahan and Natanz, contained nuclear material in the form of uranium a, enriched to different levels, which can cause radioactive and chemical contamination at the sites affected.", — the article says .
The statement also quotes the words of the IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi. He stated that no effects on human health or the environment are expected outside of nuclear facilities. Grossi stressed that nuclear facilities "should not be the target of attacks."
The US attack on three Iranian nuclear facilities became known on the night of June 22. US President Donald Trump said that the attack was aimed at three Iranian nuclear facilities in Fordo, Natanz and Isfahan. According to Trump, the operation was successful. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that American strikes could change history.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, in turn, accused the United States of violating the UN Charter, international law and the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT). The minister stressed that the attack from Washington would have lasting consequences.
