The memory of Soviet soldiers was honored in Berlin.

Russian Ambassador to Germany Sergey Nechaev took part in a flower-laying ceremony at the Memorial to Fallen Soviet Soldiers in the Tiergarten in Berlin on Memorial Day and Mourning, June 22.
"June 22 is a sacred day for us. It was on this day, in 1941, that the aggression of Nazi Germany against the Soviet people began — without declaring war. The USSR lost 27 million people in this war," Nechaev said.
He stressed that the memory of the dead must be passed on to the next generations. Representatives of patriotic youth also came to the flower-laying ceremony on the Day of Remembrance and Mourning.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin took part in a wreath-laying ceremony at the Grave of the Unknown Soldier in Moscow. The event took place in the Alexander Garden near the walls of the Kremlin.
