- Ushakov explained the postponement of negotiations between Russia and the United States by disagreement on the meeting place.

The pause in negotiations between Russia and the United States on issues related to diplomatic property and the so-called "diplomatic guards" arose due to disagreements over the venue of the meeting. This was announced on June 22 by Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov in an interview with journalist Pavel Zarubin.
"There was an agreement, as I have already mentioned, to meet in one place. This place did not suit them for certain reasons, and now they will offer another option," Ushakov said in an interview published on Zarubin's Telegram channel.
He also noted that despite the pause, the dialogue between Moscow and Washington continues, while many issues in this context continue to be discussed.
According to him, the development of cooperation is facilitated by the Russian ambassador to Washington, Alexander Darchiev, who recently presented his credentials and already maintains, as Ushakov noted, albeit not completely normal, but close to that level of contacts with the US State Department and other structures.
On June 10, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov announced the imminent holding of the third round of negotiations between the United States and Russia to discuss bilateral irritants. Darchiev later clarified that the consultations would take place in Moscow.
On June 9, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov pointed to the normalization of Russian-American relations. According to him, now the bilateral contact of the states is in a more correct position than it was during the administration of former President of the United States Joe Biden.
