In a five-storey residential building in Serov, Sverdlovsk region, a gas-air mixture exploded without ignition. Footage from the site of the explosion on June 22 is published by Izvestia.
Valery Gorelykh, head of the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Sverdlovsk Region, told Izvestia that a man born in 1987 was in the apartment at the time of the explosion. According to him, he smelled gas, put a kettle on the stove, and at that moment an explosion occurred.
"The man was alone in the apartment, the landlady is being questioned by investigators now. Three more people were injured in the apartment below, a married couple and their child," Gorelykh said.
It is specified that representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have created a security zone at the scene.
The explosion of a gas-air mixture in Serov, Sverdlovsk region, became known earlier that day. As reported, four people were transferred to an ambulance team, 240 residents were evacuated. The forces of the unified state System for the prevention and elimination of emergency situations (RSCHS) were involved in the aftermath: 29 people and nine pieces of equipment, including 14 people and four pieces of equipment from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations.
