"The Trump administration is preparing for a potential retaliatory strike from Iran, and the next 48 hours are of particular concern," the publication says.
As two representatives of the US Department of Defense and a senior White House official told the TV channel, it is not yet known whether Iran's retaliatory strikes will be directed at foreign or domestic facilities of the United States.
In addition, two officials said that the Islamic Republic had already allegedly pre-selected US facilities that it would attack if necessary.
The US attack on Iran's three nuclear facilities became known on June 21. US President Donald Trump said that the attack was aimed at three Iranian nuclear facilities in Fordo, Natanz and Isfahan. According to Trump, the operation was successful. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in turn, said that American strikes could change history.
Later, Iranian Foreign Minister Araqchi said that the United States had violated the UN Charter and would face long-term consequences. The minister stressed that in accordance with the UN Charter, which allows for a legitimate response in self-defense, Iran reserves all possible options to protect its sovereignty, interests and people.
